In an effort to incorporate more technology into the classroom and the small group setting and use less paper, the vision is to create a PLN that students can work together collaboratively in class in small groups, or if possible, at their leisure at home, enhancing phonemic awareness, accuracy, and fluency skills.
Suggested benefits of this PLN as a tool for me as an educator, other educators teaching at-risk reading, parents at home supplementing a child's phonemic awareness, accuracy, and fluency skills, and students themselves struggling with phonemic awareness, accuracy, and fluency would be to:
· provide independent learning and practice of the above mentioned skills to at-risk readers in small group or independent setting.
· provide more up-to-date technology use and application in small groups or independently in class as a learning tool.
· provide peer learning and teaching in small groups using technology.
· provide other educators of technologically advanced learning tools that they may incorporate into the classroom curriculum in order to strengthen phonemic awareness, accuracy, and fluency skills deficiencies.
· provide educators more time to multi-task and meet with other students at-level or above-level in reading to facilitate those students.
